Any such notice of objection shall state concisely the

reasons for the objection.

(3) In the case of the promotion of a Bill, a further

meeting of the Council shall be held as soon as may be after

the expiration of fourteen days after the Bill has been

deposited with the Clerk of Councils, and unless the propriety

of the promotion is confirmed by a majority of the whole

number of the members of the Council at that meeting, the

Council shall take all necessary steps to withdraw the Bill.

Not less than ten clear days before the date of a meeting

to be held under this sub-section, the like notice shall be

given in relation thereto as is required to be given in

relation to a meeting to be held under sub-section (1) of

this section.

122. No payment shall be made by the Council to a member

of the Council for acting as counsel or agent in promoting or

apposing a Bill under this Part of this Ordinance.

PART XIII. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Contracts

(1) The Council may enter into contracts necessary

for the discharge of any of their functions.

(2) All contracts made by the Council or by a committee

thereof shall be made in accordance with the standing orders

of the Council, and in the case of contracts for the supply

of goods or materials or for the execution of works, the

standing orders shall

(a) require that, except as otherwise provided by or

under the standing orders, notice of the intentim

of the Council or comittee, as the case may be,

to enter into the contract shall be published and

tenders invited; and

(b) regulate the manner in which such notice shall be

published and tenders invited:
